KIXANA Brand Identity

The Brief
KIXANA is a Music production and Sound engineering Studio in Nairobi, Kenya. We pride ourselves in delivering exceptional audio output and providing a platform for both local and international artists to create music and other sonic projects of the highest quality.
We need a logo for branding an entertainment company with a studio in Nairobi. We want to express to the audience that Kixana is a strong, reliable, professional company that provides exceptional audio output (Production for music, podcasts, film scores, advertisements and jingles etc). The visual style should be dark, mysterious, minimalistic, afro-futuristic, appealing to creatives but still professional enough to attract corporates.
My Moodboard
I started the creative process by going into research, exploring the various ways musical businesses brand themselves, all so I can find a way to make KIXANA look and feel unique and different. Exploring different ways we can use visual elements like colour, shape and typography to create an authentic brand identity that our audience can identify with.
Idea Generation
The research stage gave me a lot of ideas that I later explored through sketches and layouts to fully stretch the mind and visualize all the different and unique ways we could explore creating this visual identity.
Organic African Shapes
Inspired by the organic, unorthodox and vibrant energy of African culture. This logo seeks to give KIXANA a unique personality that audiences and artists can identify with for years to come. Shapes and organic lettering can go a long way in giving the studio its own unique look and feel which will translate to an authentic identity.
